My Introductory Letter to President Biden -- February 1, 2021
February 1, 2021
Dear President Biden,
Congratulations on becoming our 46th President of the United States. Because you served as vice president for former President Barack Obama, I will not inundate you, or your Secretary of State, with a folder of copies of correspondence that I have received from addressees of power, authority, and influence since late 1991. Nor will I send you a copy of my introductory letters to your three predecessors. What I told local TV anchorwoman, Shan Whiston, of WGEM-TV, Quincy, Illinois, over the phone on February 17, 1999 sums up well what my ongoing letter-writing effort serves for me to attempt to do, when she asked me, “What do you hope to achieve? What is your goal?” in which I replied back to Ms. Whiston, “Oh, gosh, I don’t know. Uh, to have a cohesive effect. Uh, that current world leaders to try to solve the world’s problems before Christ returns.” Also, it has been my stated speculation since May 19, 1999 that Christ’s return to earth is contingent upon obtaining a genuine and comprehensive Mideast peace agreement. I continue to hold that speculation.
I was not a big fan of your predecessor, but President Trump should be given credit for initiating the Abraham Accords. Any progress in the Middle East peace process is noteworthy, as the dearth of any prior significant progress made during the previous 26 years clearly shows us, since Jordan made peace with Israel in 1994. And President Trump putting economic pressure on the nation of Iran should give you a good position from which to begin negotiations of a new nuclear accord with Iran, presumably.
In 1997, I began including editorials and opinion pieces from various publications that encouraged, and gave ideas for, progress in the Middle East peace process in my letter-writing effort to addressees of power, authority, and influence. I stopped using these editorials and opinion pieces for my letter-writing effort in 2018 and I have transitioned to sharing a few of my personal experiences from my past and from very recently, my assumption being that the diplomats who work in the embassies of the Mideast nations know quite well the situation ‘on the ground’ and they might better enjoy reading of my personal life. (That’s my hope, anyway.) In keeping with that, the remaining pages of this letter tell of my briefly meeting, in person, a new TV anchorwoman at WGEM-TV, Makenze Henderson. Also is one attached page concerning my interaction on Facebook with a very talented woman who I first learned about several years ago on CNBC, Chloe Cho, who I am now friends with on Facebook.
I wanted to tell you that I believe that our nation has a superb First Lady in your wife, Dr. Jill Biden, who everyone knows will take very good care of you over the coming years.
I will use this introductory letter to add what has become a February tradition of mine: Stating that we are all now precisely 29 years closer to the day of Christ’s return to earth than we were when I first had my Luke 21:25a/Matthew 24:29-30a prophecy cards produced in February, 1992. This is the sixth consecutive February in which I have done this in my letter-writing effort since I decided to do this in February, 2016 on a regular, ongoing annual basis. (Where has the time gone?)
Good luck to you, Secretary of State Blinken, and Secretary of Defense Austin in all arenas of foreign policy.
cc: First Lady Dr. Jill Biden Sincerely,
Vice President Harris

P.S. I finalized and printed this cover letter on January 2, 2021, which was four days before a pro-Trump crowd became a mob and stormed the U.S. Capitol Building in a violent insurrection. I saw no need to alter this cover letter, but you do have a great challenge before you in unifying our Nation. I hope that four years from now, the presidency of Donald J. Trump will look like a very unfortunate, but brief, tragic blip in U.S. history.
